Really Big Prints! Exhibit and archive of prints has been withdrawn from Hamilton.
Really Big Prints! had been a biennial, multi-day, large-scale relief printmaking event held in collaboration with Hamilton since 2014 and had provided a “home” for the archive of prints from these events.
On January 29, 2026, the following was announced:
”Yesterday Really Big Prints removed all of our prints and “stuff” from the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. We are looking for a venue for July 2027, and will have an update on that soon. We also have some other exciting news about the collection and upcoming exhibits. We are in negotiations with UW – Milwaukee about a permanent home for the now 194 prints in the collection, and we are working on an exhibition of prints curated from all six RBP events at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design that will run from May through September of 2026.”

When SGC International published a Statement of Support for the Letterpress Community, the Hamilton Board asked that SGCI include their own response to how their actions were being characterized by others. You can read both of those statements here.
Below is a link to a Hamilton staff member’s response and rebuttal to the Hamilton Board.

On October 13, 2025, the Windgate Foundation, which manages a $10 million endowment for the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, issued a formal letter to Hamilton’s Board of Directors.
This letter (which we have permission to share) echoes our community’s call for accountability—demanding the immediate resignation of the current executive board and the appointment of new, diverse leadership.
Their action affirms what the printing community has been advocating for: a Hamilton led with integrity, care, vision, and transparency.

Petition Delivered to the Reva and David Logan Foundation Board of Directors
On October 27, 2025, the community’s petition and the first set of signatures was sent via certified mail to the Board of Directors of the Reva and David Logan Foundation, one of the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum’s major funders.
The petition calls for the resignation of Hamilton’s Executive Board and the appointment of new, diverse leadership committed to transparency, accountability, and care for the museum and its community.
A letter accompanying the petition urges the Logan Foundation to uphold its own mission—to “challenge the status quo” and support organizations that embody social justice, transparency, and creative integrity.
