A petition has been created to call for this necessary leadership change. Even if you are not part of the letterpress or printmaking or design world, your voice matters in affirming that cultural spaces deserve ethical leadership.
REASONS WHY PEOPLE ARE SIGNING:
“An inclusive community is a strong community.”
- Katy M. 10/3/2025
”What's a printing museum without the support of printers?”
- Molly P. 9/30/25
”Absent collaboration with provocative and engaging artists, the museum will become simply a warehouse. The staff has built something extraordinary; it must be supported, not undermined.”
- Mary-Alice P. 9/29/25
”This is important for the future of our craft.”
- William W. 9/28/25
A critical institution in American letterpress education and history, it seems like the board is attempting to destroy the museum by misunderstanding how it benefits the craft and attendees in addition to visitors.
- Glenn F. 10-20-2025
Representation and action speak volumes about the priorities of this organization! The print community is loud and clear about where change needs to start.
- Kristin T. 10-20-2025
We need brave and visionary arts leadership right now.
- Vernon N. 10-20-2025
Absent collaboration with provocative and engaging artists, the museum will become simply a warehouse. The staff has built something extraordinary; it must be supported, not undermined.
- Mary-Alice P. 09-29-2025

Support Museum staff
Send encouragement to the wonderful staff caught in this crisis. They've been building bridges while the board tears them down. Mail them a note or a print or a care package. Let them know we see them and appreciate them!

Cultural institutions shape community, education, and access to important resources. When leadership fails in its duty to act in alignment and support of the mission, they must be held accountable.
